Government Degree College, Narasannapeta was established in the year 1981 with the blessings of renowed politician Sri. Dola Seetaramulu, the Ex. M.L.A. of Narasannapeta Assembly Constituency and local Philanthropist Sri. Potnuru Swamy Babu. In the beginning the college was affiliated to Andhra University and recognized by the UGC under 2F and 12B in the year 1993. Later it is affiliated to Dr.B.R.Ambedkar University in the year 2010 which is newly established in our district.
The college is upgraded physically and technologically by the RUSA grants sanctioned in the year 2017. The college has good and dedicated staff and a systematic education programme in consonance with vision and mission. The principal of the college together with the staff members have been extending their relentless efforts with commitment and dedication to uplift the institution in the hearts of the public as well. The student performance at the exit level is far better than entry level because of the efforts put in by the experienced faculty. Local elite, parents, alumni have also their due share in this holistic task.
