One of the engineering colleges established by the government of Kerala during the academic year 1999–2000 is Govt. Engineering College Kozhikode (GECK), an ISO 9001:2015 certified organization. The following engineering branches have full-time B.tech degree programs available through the college:

1. Applied Electronics and Instrumentation

2. Chemical Engineering

3. Electronics and Communication Engineering

4. Mechanical Engineering

5. Civil Engineering

The duration of the above courses is 8 semesters. The annual intake of students is 66 in each branch.

In addition to B.Tech programmes, the college conducts following M.Tech programmes :-

1. Signal Processing (AE&I)

2. Energy Systems Analysis and Deign (ME)

3. Computer Aided Process Design (Ch.E)

The University of Calicut and APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University are both affiliated with the College. It is administered by the Director of Technical Education of the Kerala Government. The All India Council for Technical Education has recognized the college (AICTE)
