The GVSM Government Degree College was founded in 1978 in Ulavapadu, the mandal headquarter of the Prakasam District. Sri Gaddam Seshiah, a well-known philanthropist, generously donated funds. The college was originally run by the government. Junior College structure. Later, in 1981, it was relocated to its current location. The donor was generous enough to fund the construction of one stroey building as well as a 19-acre plot of land.
