Syed Appalaswamy Degree College(SAS) was named after a renowned labour leader Syed Appalaswamy in the year 1975 introducing Arts and Commerce courses and science in the year 1986. Though the college started with a small strength, it progressed from time to time due to the incessant efforts of well qualified and committed teaching and non-teaching staff.

 

  Sri Veeramraju Venkateswarlu, Sri P.Gopi Reddy, Sri A L Ramaiah and Sri V V Subba Rao, retired as Principals of the college after rendering their valuable services for many years.

 

        There are 18 members on teaching and 11 members on the non-teaching There are 2 M.Phil, and Ph.D. holders in the Teaching Staff namely Dr. N.Thyagaraju, Principal In-charge and Sri. K.V. Krishna Mohan, Lecturer in Hindi.The college was admitted to grant-in-aid in 1981 and the members of the Staff have been drawing UGC Scales.
