The College was established in the year 1966 with a munificent donation of Sri. Bala Krishna Goenka, the founder of Foods, Fats & Fertilizers Ltd. The institution was named after the forefather of the chief donor as "Dwarakadas - Rameshwar Goenka Government Degree College" (D.R.G. Govt. Degree College). D.R.G .Govt. Degree College is 6 Km. away from the small town, Tadepalligudem, on Koderu - Nallajerla Road in West Godavari District. The college is situated in the fertile landscape of the West Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh. The college campus is spread over a vast stretch of land extending about 22.42 acres. Ours is the first Government Degree College in West Godavari District. The institution has been serving as a centre of learning in higher education and culture ever since.
