Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Republic of India is home to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU), formerly known as Marathwada University. It bears the name of Indian jurist, politician, academic, and principal architect of the Indian Constitution Bharat Ratna "Babasaheb" Ambedkar. Babasaheb Ambedkar was principally responsible for the establishment of this university in order to cover the enormous gap in higher education resources in the western Vidarbh, Marathwada, and North Maharashtra regions. The institution was founded on August 23, 1958.

In countless ways, our university has aided the development of neighbouring communities and individuals.

Since its founding, the university has been connected with 428 colleges that are located in the Maharashtra State districts of Aurangabad, Jalna, Beed, and Osmanabad. The number of students is higher than 4,44,336.
