As the Executive Director of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Kalyani, one of the Institutions of National Importance (INIs) in India created by a Parliamentary Act and modelled after AIIMS New Delhi, I consider it an honour. Although AIIMS, Kalyani is now in its infancy, the supportive nature of its faculty will enable us to grow and succeed.

In this regard, I want to express my gratitude to the founder-director, Dr. Gitanjali Batmanabane, who went to great lengths to handpick the group of smart, effective, and sincere faculty members. I now feel that my task is halfway complete.
